Here’s what you can expect when you join our small, nurturing day program:

home-based

Your child will be cared for in my thoughtfully designed, cozy home environment on the eastside of Detroit. I’ve created a space where comfort and safety are top priorities, making sure your child feels secure and cherished. There is a small grassy outdoor space including raised bed gardens.

communication

You will be provided with regular updates (observations and recommendations) on your child’s growth and development. A collaborative relationship between parent(s) and myself is a key to a healthy care dynamic

blended EC theory

I study and combine various early childhood education (EC) approaches—attachment theory, somatic practices, forest school, Waldorf, and Montessori—to provide a well-rounded, responsive experience for your child. My goal is to support little ones’ early development in language and autonomy while respecting their organic growth and individual needs.

prioritizing play

Many things that children need to learn can be accessed through the act of play.

Daily Activities

Providing pathways for each child to discover their own unique gifts and interests.

  • Fun, daily opportunities for children to develop physical skills and coordination.

  • Hands-on experiences that teach practical skills through domestic and artistic activities.

  • Engaging and playful activities that introduce numbers, letters, shapes, and colors in a way that sparks curiosity.

  • Indoor and outdoor experiences that encourage exploration and discovery with an emphasis on connecting to nature.

  • Cultivating the enjoyment of music, from playing instruments, rhythm practice, singing and listening.

  • Interactive play that helps your child connect with others, understand and express their feelings, and build social skills.

Instruction on identification of feelings and describing needs/wants.

  • Encouraging creativity and imagination with both structured and open-ended play.

  • A chance for your child to experience a sense of belonging in a community outside of their immediate family.

Guidance in ways of being with others that extends beyond dependency.
